About SBS
We founded SBS in 2009 because the healthcare industry was failing the “middle.”
For too long, big-box brokers have ignored the unique needs of organizations with 10 to 500 employees, often refusing to even visit them in person.
We decided to stay small on purpose. Being a boutique firm allows us to be agile, creative, and deeply personal.
We don’t just “shop the market” once a year and hand you a spreadsheet; we provide the high-level strategy and year-round advocacy that national brokers usually save for their multi-thousand-employee accounts.

Josh came to SBS in January 2018 after working as a teacher, coach, nonprofit staffer, and in real estate. He sets vision and direction for SBS while finding new solutions that help the team serve clients better. His favorite moment? Seeing a producer win a new client.
A Woodruff, South Carolina native with a math degree from Wofford College, Josh now lives with his wife and children. When he’s not working, you’ll find him on the golf course.
