Our Philosophy
We founded SBS in 2009 because the healthcare industry was failing the “middle.”
For too long, big-box brokers have ignored the unique needs of organizations with 10 to 500 employees, often refusing to even visit them in person.
We decided to stay small on purpose. Being a boutique firm allows us to beagile, creative, and deeply personal.
A small grocery store felt they had zero leverage in a market of rising costs. By opening up markets they had never seen and applying creative plan design, we reduced their costs by 48%. They passed those thousands of dollars in savings directly back to their employees.
A nonprofit was drowning in pharmacy spend. We implemented a “Prescription Scholarship” program that delivered the same carrier and a better network while saving them $1 million. Those funds were earmarked for a capital campaign to build a new facility to serve more children in our community.
